Websites banned in China !
Why can’t we access YouTube in China? What is wrong with websites? They are just social medias, which permits us to interact with people all over the world. So why BAN YouTube, and then make a Chinese copy with much less content called Youku. It even has the same first three letters! If only you tube was the only website blocked, but no Facebook is also banned along with many others.
So I really would like to know why I can’t watch videos on You Tube and why I can’t see what my friends are posting on Facebook in China. Is it because there are some offensive things written or posted about China? Well if that is the case it is not a good excuse! Just because one video or post says a “bad” thing about China it’s not a reason to go CRAZY and BAN an ENTIRE WEBSITE! If there really is a video or post that China really didn’t want people in China to see they should have banned only that one part of the website. The ban is not even successful because everyone who likes going on those websites worktheir ways around that rule and go buy a VPN which lets you unblock them. So by making that rule China just made cheaters win a lot of money, and what did they stop? NOTHING!!! They just are just basically making us pay to go on websites, which is ridiculous!!! Look, cigarettes are more dangerous than websites; they kill more people than websites so why are cigarettes not banned?!
This whole thing doesn’t make sense! What is China so scared about? Do they think that there are so sort of tutorial on how protest against China? Well, there might be one and that is whyif they were only blocking parts of the websites, they would have been more effective. People are not going to go and waste their money on a VPN just because they can’t watch one video. They WILL however, get a VPN if they can’t access a website because CHINA decided that the content in that website was “BAD” or “OFFENSIVE” so they just BLOCK it.
Another thing that china didn’t think about or maybe they did, but they just don’t care. Less people are going to come to China to visit, meaning less tourism. Some people might use one of those websites they blocked to work, and their boss or other people might want to send them an urgent message that has to be answered as soon as possible on that website. They can’t do anything about it except buy a VPN, which they probably don’t want to do. Since their trip costs a lot of money they don’t want to waste any more money on useless things they will never have to use again, which make sense (not like this whole website blocking in China thing).
The right thing to do would have been to ban or block parts of websites because people are not going to get a VPN just for that. This way less people would complain like me about the social media bans. So WHY is china so scared of social media to a point of BLOCKING them?
