Famous Poetry
Poetry Analysis
You must choose 3 poems to analyze. Your poem must consist of 15 - 20 lines minimum. You must use your notes to do a point form analysis for all three. You must then write a full sentence, full page, detailed analysis of one of the poems (incl. an opinion paragraph). You will also read this poem aloud and present your findings to the class. The first paragraph of the analysis will compare/contrast your poems and introduce your opinion of the poem you will do the full page analysis on. Do not look up others' views and analysis of your poem. If this occurs I will choose the poems for you and you will come in at lunch/after school and do the assignment in the classroom.
To find your poems you can use the sites below, look up a specific poets writing OR use one of the famous poems on the left (as long as it is at least 15 lines).
